Has anyone bought the series 2 Apple Watch? I'm on the fence about it or the updated series 1.
I was gifted a 6+ this summer, and I'd like to get a Watch to wear out, as I'm drop-prone with phones. I have a Lifeproof case, so small drops should be fine, but I'd just rather not have to deal with babysitting the phone while grocery shopping, especially during the holidays with over crowded stores.

Love my first gen Apple watch....so much fun I find myself calling more than usual. Plus if you are concerned about any emergency calls...it can be made without picking up a phone. I have two...one in rose gold and the other in black....love 'em. Not interested in an update, but looking forward to the updated mac book pro.

I'm thinking about buying Apple Watch series 2 as Christmas presents for my son and nephews (ages 17-21). They each have iPhones and my son has a MacBook Pro.
I'm having some problems understanding how the Apple watch works. I feel somewhat clueless even though I've looked at reviews and websites. 🙃 Is this something that would require another data plan or does it simply sync with the iPhone? What is the difference between the series 2 and series 2 with Nike+? Any accessories to go with it?
Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Watch simply syncs to the phone
unless they r swimming or running or doing a lot of outside excerise they may not need the "2"

Hi everyone,
I perviously had the original Apple Watch, not series 1 or 2. That worked for me flawlessly, I just finished setting up the new series 2. I see it's much improved already.
Let's just say that QVC is leagues ahead of the competition! My mother says most prices are a good deal, as far as my watch....nowhere close. First, Apple sells them brand new for $399 for the aluminum sport model, I paid $600 for mine! Wtf?? I got all the accessories that were shown with it, no worries there. Seeing that it came with so called "tech" support for 2 years I figured I might break closer to even. Well, not so lucky there, the "tech" support consists of 2 years of "tech" knowledge, i.e., help with using the watch, nothing offered that is similar in any way to "AppleCare" which is what I assumed.
Also, Apple sells a stainless steel body model, as opposed to the aluminum body model, which I prefer, for $599, and the picture they use shows the more expensive stainless body?!? So, what was the extra $300 I paid, for?? Still have no clue.

Just syncs. No extra data or plan needed.

I have had both the Series 1 and 2. Frankly, unless you are swimming, there is little difference. I got both of mine on eBay at a significant savings over the Apple price. I love mine. At first I thought the print would be too small to read but it really isn't. Love being able to see who's calling when my phone is at the bottom of my handbag. You can even answer the phone on your watch.
