I downloaded the new update yesterday. Now I keep getting a pop up every 5-7 seconds to vierify my apple ID for my e-mail acct. I have followed all directions to no avail. In fact I have done it dozens of times!! My email is not locked as is stated in the pop up. I have also rebooted the iPad, still no luck. Am I missing something or can I unlock something to stop this pop up? Any help is greatly appreciated.

@Wricardos, do you have another device on which to check your email? Your question is a bit unclear, but if you can access your email, see if Apple sent you a number code they want you to input as your two-step verification to unlock your i-device.
Example: I okayed 2-step identification on my iPad, and I designated my place to receive the code as my iPhone. They sent me the code to my phone in a text, and I input it into the iPad and it was then unlocked. But my *other choice*, one that I could have used if I didn't have a cell phone, was my account's email address.
You might want to check, if you can.

@Wricardos, It would help to know the exact wording of this popup.
It might be referring to verifying your Apple ID with the email address you have on file with Apple (see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201356) or this might help: http://osxdaily.com/2016/01/11/fix-apple-id-verification-password-pop-up-ios/.
If not, please give us more specific info and I know one of us can help out.
I'm sorry you're having problems. I know it's frustrating.

I have the same issue on my iPod Touch.
It's a glitch. I bypass it by using my password from 2 times back and it goes through.
My device is no longer upgradeable.
I'm sorry I let the Apple people convince me to go the digital route for music 7 years ago. Apple does not support the product well, IMO. Eventually I'll have an old gadget with no access to my purchased music. Thank God I kept my old music and only dipped my toes into digital compared to my hard copies. I refuse to upgrade every time they release a newer version. I think its pretty dishonest (?unethical) for Apple to do this. They could make music downwardly compatible across devices. I still have my Panasonic turntable & receiver from 40 years ago, for Pete's sake. It has gorgeous sound to this day, although the speakers are huge. LOL.
Sorry to hijack your thread.

Post on Apple's message boards in the iPad forums and/or read through them for your type of issue for answers.
When describing your problem there, you must be very specific in telling everything you have tried in the way of troubleshooting as well as which update you installed.
The expert volunteers there will be able to help you if you do.

I had to use my email address with my password. When I was asked to verify my password. I put in my pin code. I was then able to upgrade my iPad.
A while back I had to change my passcode associated with my email address.

Do a hard reset/shutdown not a reboot. Press the home button and the power button on the same time until it powers off. Leave it off for a monite then turn on. You'll need to hold down the power button until you see the Apple logo.
