Re: Anyone here have any tips for dealing with Apple support?

Start out telling the idiots there how smart and wonderful they are.  They are the young ones who think they are Gods.  Maybe they will get you some help then from someone who knows what they are doing.  But remember, don't po them or they will be mad about that and won't help you.

I haven't changed anything with my screen saver.   In fact, haven't changed anything over the last few days, but today I had no issues at all with the freezing up problems.  I'll keep my appointment on Thursday and have it looked at even if I don't have the problem again.

Well, I was respectful toward the phone support people.

My feelings about their "help" were only vented here!

The problem is that everything freezes up if I've left it idle for about 5 minutes. I have to force it to shut down.  Yes, I have tried all their suggested fixes, and none of them have resolved the problem.

I'll just try showing up at the store on Monday or Tuesday to see if they can fit me in.

Thanks for your answers, everyone!

I feel your pain.  I have a year old macbook air and it freezes up while

I am typing.  I also have to force it to shut down and then it's fine.  I

can't imagine that is good for the machine though.  I hope you get

       yours fixed.
