I use the iPad for reading and for streaming 95% of the time. When reading I hold the iPad in my hands so I can get it close to my face (for vision purposes).
Wondering if someone frequently holds their 13" and finds that comfortable. All the videos I've seen show the 13" iPad on a desk. I cannot go to a store to hold one, have to order online. I realize the 13" weighs more. But is the size awkward?
@JGalt , Just a thought, did you ever consider a Kindle for reading.? They are comfortable to hold and you can adjust the type size and font.
I have the Kindle app on my iPad. With the app I can adjust type, etc. the same as if I were using a Kindle.
@shoesnbags , I too have the APP on my IPAD, but I prefer the kindle. It's just a personal preference. If you get the 13" IPAD, let us know how you like it , if you would.🌺
I don't have a Kindle, so I can't compare the two. It's funny, as a lifelong reader I never thought I would become a fan of any type of e-reader. But now the Kindle app is my preferred mode of reading.
Since I just bought an Apple watch a few days ago, I won't be trading my old iPad in for a newer model any time soon. And when I eventually do, I wouldn't want anything bigger than my current 11 inch. But I'll be interested in what the OP thinks if she does get the 13 inch one.

LOL, I just cut up a sturdy box to the 13" iPad size (like a sheet of paper). While it's not the same because I don't have the weight, it's helping me imagine. I will say, it is huge. First impression is too big for holding close to my face the way I need.
My old Air2 has some issues and is not upgradable to latest software so some websites give me trouble. I am trading in the iPad 9th gen. Well, I'll play with my cardboard mock-up and decide tomorrow.

@JGalt , for me 13" would be too big.
I bought one of the iPad Pro's when they first came out. I would not spend the extra $ for one now as I don't think I used the extra features. I also have MacBook Pro 13" laptop.

I leave my iPad Pro (11 inch) attached to the Magic Keyboard so I can't speak to holding the iPad for viewing. Never have held the device in my hands. I didn't really think about that until now when I see the discussion.

I've have had these for a number of years, I think they are listed as 12.9 inches. Believe it or not, when my last one died, I went two directions. I now have a 13 inch Mac Air laptop that is exactly the same screen size except it's a whole lot more powerful and easier to type on, and easy to watch videos because it sits in your lap, you don't have to hold it .
I have a much smaller iPad mini that is perfect for travel. I don't miss that large iPad at all, and last year for Father's Day I gave my son the 11 inch when his large one died and he likes it MUCH better. he uses it to watch videos etc.
If you drop the big one the cost of the screen to replace it is about $7- $800. so beware I've broken a screen and so has my son

Thank you to those who shared their thoughts. It really helped.
After playing with my cardboard mock-up, pretending I was doing things just as I was actually doing them with my iPad, I made a choice. I ordered the 11" iPad Air. I went back and forth on the 11" vs. 13". I carefully paid attention to how I was holding the iPad. When was it close to my face. When was it on my lap.
Ultimately I had to admit to myself that most of the time the smaller iPad was right for me. The 13" would be great when streaming. But I suspect I wouldn't be happy if it were all I had.
My new 11" iPad Air (M2) will be delivered on Wednesday, May 15.
