My ATT cell phone will have to go into the shop for a warranty repair. I just ordered a new Tracfone for an upgrade to hubby's phone. Can I activate that phone, use it for a week or two and then switch it over to him when I get my ATT phone back? Hope I was clear with my question! Thanks!

I wouldn't say it's technically impossible...you'd have to ask the Tracfone people, but having delt with Tracfone, I'd say you'd be biting off a ton of trouble and grief. Why don't you go to Walmart and buy the cheapest phone and the least minutes available to tide you over? Don't forget, you'd have a different phone number which no one would know.

I thought of that. But, good news! ATT will send me a new phone and then let me return the malfunctioning phone. So, I should be good!

Don't believe what someone here has to stay about TracFone. I have had them for over 10 years, and 11 different phones. Problems? ZERO.
I have activated many new phones and switched minutes from several different phones, again problem free.
Is your AT&T phone with Tracfone? You lost me on who has Tracfone, you with AT&T, or your husband with the new phone, or both.
The way I understand it is this. If you move your talk/text and data from your phone and

My ATT phone is defective and ATT will replace it. It isn't with Tracfone. I was under the impression that I would have to send it in for repair and wait for it to be returned. As it turns out, they will send a replacement phone and then I will return the defective phone to them. I, too, am a Tracfone user of 8 years. I got the ATT one in April and it hasn't worked correctly for a while. I should have stayed with Tracfone!!
