I love to take pictures. I take so many that I think I am the cameras worst enemy, and I am so into getting the best shot that I am really never satisfied.
I am on the hunt for a new camera.
1. Sharp image
2. Allowing for low light
3. Allowing for fast moving subjects
4. Like to have a long lens to take pictures a distance.
5. Prefer light weight but open to suggesions.. I could carry extra lenses but not sure I want to or have to....
My canon, nikon, fuji are all old and failing.
What to buy....???? Help me please

I've been looking for a few months as I would like a point and shoot, with greater than 20X, and wifi. Right now I have a Panasonic Lumix with 20X zoom lens but no wifi. I tried one of the wifi SD cards and it stopped working after the first time - kept getting write errors on the camera.
My latest top choice is a Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS40. There are newer Panasonic models out, but the reviews indicated this is still a better camera. It has a 30X zoom lense.
I also will only buy cameras from electronics/camera stores now as I don't trust them from the big A. A few people mentioned in reviews that they received cameras without US warranties.
The consumer electronics show in Las Vegas is coming up shorting and all the newer stuff will be previeweed then.
Last year I got my boyfriend a Samsung WB350F Smart Camera which is 21x zoom and he absolutely loves it.
Good luck! Please post what you decide to get.

I have had a camera in hand since the age of 7. I think that is why I cannot make up my mind. I would like sharp pictures with good focal length. I also need speed. There has got ot be something out there. Never been happy with Canon customer service. Long story short ---- lens fell out on floor they would not support it or me. G9 very expensive camera for that to happen with no help. Thought my others would last, Panasonic, Fuji, etc. Not as they were when newer. I take lots of shots for me and for family and for groups (that want me to post for publicity (Square Dances and Demos). Tired of FIXING up the pictures for clarity and sharpness.
Still looking. Don't want to break the bank and don't want to carry large oversized lens bags.

My wife bought a Fuji, not sure of the model, but it is shaped like a SLR, with the hand grip for right hand. Will list what I can remember. I am not even close to an expert on a camera, that is my wife's field.
16 mp/optical lens eye piece/low light CMOS sensor/50X optical zoom-100X intelligent zoom/1080p video/2 types of image stabilization/wi-fi capable/burst mode. Auto and Manual settings galore and not a huge camera. Pocket size, no. Purse size. From the sizes I see of some purses? Yes.
She loves the camera and she did go to photography classes, T think for a couple years.

I think cameras are like laptops - everyone has their strong likes and dislikes as far as manufacturer. I had Fuji point-and-shoots for several years, until the long zoom mechanism on one died not long out of warranty and I didn't want to chance that again. Have been using Canon p&s ever since. I love my Powershot SX700 (30X zoom and wifi) - but I routinely run my shots through PS Express. I'm just used to that, no biggie for me.
For greater clarity and less post-shot processing you'd have to go with a DSLR, which means multiple lenses and a lot to carry around. Different things are important to different folks. I prefer convenience and small size and don't mind the editing, but that's just me. I had SLRs and extra lenses back in the day bit no longer want the hassle.

John, if you remember can you post the camera (model). It sound like something I am interested in. I just want to have something clear and sharp. And I do know carrying around lenses would be a better choice for picture quality but I really don't want to the extra weight as I travel around.

Hi bonnielu,
The model is: Fujifilm S9400W.
A quick look around and I found "camera only" for $199. Look at online places you buy and you should find it. More info check fuji website can google model and get specs and pix of it.
