Acer Netbook--went black

I got the Acer 11.6 netbook 4 days ago. Was working fine with no problems.

Yesterday, I went to use it and the screen was black. I hit the space bar to "wake" it up, but nothing happened. It will not respond at all--unplugging, hitting power button. Did it crash? No lights will go on for the power or battery charging.

Any suggestions? Send it back?
