I just spent 2 hrs 15 min. on the phone with Dell Tech Support (2 calls because I got disconnected after 68 min on the 1st call). All I needed was someone to tell me how to install my System Recovery disks that I made per Dell instructions when I got my new laptop last summer (QVC TSV). I just got it back from tech support after having warranty work done to fix my webcam. They also did a system restore so all my pre-installed software was wiped out. Of course I don't have any of the disks for any of those programs (Windows 7, MS Office & many others) because Dell is saving money by not giving those out and requesting buyers to make the System Recovery disks instead. I did this and what is supposed to happen is that I use those disks to get my computer back in the condition it was when I received it. Well, a lot of good that does when no one can get them to work! So .... now they are sending me a brand new Hard Drive pre-loaded with all the software. The technician will call me next week to see if I got it installed and it's working. You can bet I am going to demand the disks so that if this happens again and I have no warranty, I can load them all myself! Sorry for the length of this post but I am fuming!
