No one is deliberately lying to you.  Everyone is having pre Black Friday sales, Christmas shopping.  This time of year I never expect to receive whatever as quick as stated.  There are just too many variables involved.  You are causing yourself a lot of unnecessary stress being somewhat unrealistic.  I feel bad for retail, delivery partners this time of year as they have to deal with so much negativity.  And they are working their butts off.  This isn't life and death.

Frustrating but I'm sure it's happened to all of us several times over.

@gardenman, At this point perhaps the only thing to do is communicate your frustration to them, the need for the promised delivery date, and request some type of compensation. That will be the real test of their customer service.

I never believe anything said by a company or business.  That way I'm not disappointed.  I also never order anything I need the next day.

It did come and it is a lot of fun. They really need to work on their messaging though. "It's coming tomorrow. No, it's coming Tuesday. It may be coming today. It's coming today in a small black SUV. It came." Yeah. In a large white van. Ugh! I got it, it works. It's fun. All's well that ends well, but it shouldn't be that complicated to tell a customer when their package is coming. The contradictory stuff drives you a little crazy.
