Re: tags feature has been removed?

Sadly, @Keyai, I don't think guidelines are enough, since some posters make it a point to ignore most of them and will no doubt continue to ignore any new ones unless some "teeth" are added also.

Re: tags feature has been removed?

          @Krimpette,  I agree with @jackthebear!   Not a dumb question at all.   It  allowed us to add keywords, which make the search feature work better and also we could go to our profile to more quickly and easily find certain posts if we wanted to refer back to them.   I used it, in part, to be able to locate technical "guides" I posted in the past -- those will be harder to find now.    Thanks, so much, for the updates @Wayne-QVC and @Keyai.    My hope is that the feature could be restored for those who use it properly, and those who abuse it (like anything else on this forum) would be notified and possibly banned if they continued to do so.    It's sad to think we lose functionality simply because a few find a way to misuse it, but I'm encouraged to see it's still under review.

@sunshine45

"i cannot imagine how posters were abusing that feature...."

Very easily.  If a MOD deleted a post showing a reason why, sometimes they would be tagged if the person reading it did not agree.  Some of the tagged remarks were unkind to the MODS.  Not many, but I gather one unkind tag to a MOD was one to many for the MODS.

After all, they are doing their jobs.

TO THE MODS:

Is there a way for the software to have tags for the forum members & not for the MODS?

@Mz iMac We do not have that option available.
