e-gift cards

Why can't you use an e-gift card with Mr. Rebates. I tried to order Todays Special with Mr. Rebates. The gift card was less than the total order. I should have gotten credit for the balance but it wouldn't  go through. Please advise.

@luvsshopping I apologize, we only use QVC gift cards for purchasing.
