advance order

What is Advance Order?  I made 2  purchases 6 days ago for a laptop on 5 easy payments along with a 3 yr service plan.  The service plan has been shipped but my laptop keeps saying Advance order.  It also gives me an  EDD. Can someone explain it to me please

It means the items aren't available for shipment now, but at a date in the near future.  Sometimes this is a few days or as much as a couple of weeks.  The EDD should give you a good idea of when the item will ship and/or arrive.
