Why can’t I use a personal credit card anymore?

What's up with QVC forcing you to use their credit card? I received emails on the last two purchases I made telling me that I had to change my card and the only option I had was to use the Q card. I called to find out why but was told I should be able to change it. Well it happened again. It would not allow me to choose my Visa card. So why would I choose to do that? Because my Visa card has a low interest rate. Has anyone checked QVC's rate lately? It's now 32.24% variable!!! Between their over-inflated pricing and cc rate, it has left a very sour taste in my mouth so now I rarely shop QVC anymore.

@NormaLB I use only the cards of my choice. I have never seen a reason to apply for a Q card. I don't use any cards which are good at only one company - gave those up years ago.

@NormaLB Just hit the "edit" button next to payment.

You can pick any card you have on file, add any card, even add gift cards from there.

They probably default to the Qcard because it's their card.

Amazon does the same thing.

Perhaps your card is expired or maxed out and they are asking you to use the QCard because that's the only other card they have on file for you.

@NormaLB Are you saying that clicking the edit button doesn't let you change your card? Or perhaps as @MezzieStarr said you could need to update something about your current credit card.

I just made a purchase this morning on my usual non-Q bank card so it's not a universal issue.

When this happens it almost always is a stale expiration date which can be easily fixed with an edit.

@NormaLB - I've never had a QCard. I always use my own CC. QVC has never "forced" me to use any method of payment I don't choose.

I suggest there's something you're missing, when you try to use yours. Make sure your CC details are correct and up-to-date. The email you received is probably trying to alert you to just that issue.

If the time ever comes that QVC tries to force me to use the Q card, I will never make another purchase.

I have used my personal credit card for the past 20 years and they never asked me to use the q card, which I have no interest in getting.

Agree; sometimes the date expires on your card.
