Which Game Threads Belong In Gamers Forum?

I see a new game thread started in "Kitchen."

Is it ok to start game threads in all the forums or just some of them?

How do we decide?

There was a thread about this a few months back.

ALL game threads go to 'GAMERS.'

The Q Social Team moves them there if a poster starts one in another forum. Otherwise they set a new precedent and we all can start game threads wherever we like.

Unless the policies have changed.

There's been a game thread on the Recipe forum for ages, hasn't seemed to bother anyone.

What you posted is the way it was explained to us before, on several threads, @spindlegirl. The moderators explained that game threads are subject to constant bumping and if they're in any forum other than "Gamers" the threads will fill up the main page (the one we see when we choose "Forums" or "View All Forum Topics.") If that's changed, it hasn't been mentioned, at least not that I've seen.

That's not a game thread @KingstonsMom. It's a daily friendship chat thread.

The new one in 'KITCHEN' is a word game basically.

If the policy's changed that's cool. I'm sure others would like to start similar threads in their favorite forums.

Post #1 of that thread spells out the rules for the game, so it IS a game technically. I used to post on that one a lot.

It started as a game thread in 2012 on the old boards where they allowed games.

It morphed into a daily friendship Chat.

So under the new boards where they told us game threads need to be in 'GAMERS' it wouldn't be considered a game. I think they need to clarify like the OP asked. Hope the Mods will explain.

If it's allowed in some places probably should be allowed everywhere for all posters. Jmo tho which is worth 2 cents lol.
