I find nothing wrong with choosing to wear younger things as opposed to wearing older looking things that do actually appear dowdy and make a person have an old person look!  I prefer young and refreshing things and not because I want to deny my age (65) but I want to feel good about myself every day and thinking I need to dress and act old is just not me!

@kivahI definitely need ground lenses because my vision from eye to eye is so radically different.

I didn't watch Lori today, but I doubt she said anything illegal.  Everybody who sells readers gives the same basic info -  everyone at QVC, at CVS, at Walgreens, at all the Dollar stores, and on and on.  It's based on averages and works for those people who have "average" eyes.  Apparently lots of people do.

I'm within a few months of your 76 and I know many people who buy inexpensive readers in quantity.  They all start with those age-related suggestions.  My only solace is that, as expensive as my eyes are to maintain, the expense and pain don't begin to compare with the expense and pain experienced by my friends who need major dentistry.

I,m not talking about clothing or accessory items. Wear what pleases you.  My post is about the statement Lori said on air.

I feel and look great  I  really take care of myself.  What makes you think most older dress old or me for that matter?.  Dress what makes you feel happy. What does old act like?   My daughter's in law act older than me.  They are in their 50,s, don,t exercise, a little on the full figure woman side.  You don,t have to be old to look or act it.  Hopefully you will get old.  Everyday is a blessing.  You also enjoy everyday to the fullest.

@millieshops

I think those cheap plastic lenses they put in frames can damage ur eyes. If someone needs reading glasses, they should go to a professional optometrist.

@kivah  Almost all glasses made by professional optometrists are made with plastic lenses.  Glass,  while it has some advantages, is very heavy.   I have two pairs of prescription lenses made professionals but can see better to read using my Joy Mangano readers.

She is no ",spring chicken" herself and her clothes look like something from a thrift store. So she should watch her mouth.

There is nothing wrong with old.  Everybody gets a day older everyday.  I think though, women have a harder time accepting it.

In our culture, @qvcaddition, there IS a sin in getting old(er).

I don't understand this mindset because, after all, I've known 85 year olds much more "hip" than many 30 year olds. As a matter of fact, I recently lost a very dear friend and she was 90. I miss our outings, our time spent just chatting about everything. She was a fascinating older woman who stayed interesting and never one time complained about her ailments, how costs have risen on her fixed income, or how she never sees her kids, blah, blah, blah... If the mind (brain) is young, then you ARE young, IMHO.

What is ironic is that from the 1st day she appeared on the Q, the person you mention looked very matronly to me. Now, even after she's zazzed up a bit, my mind does go back to the 1st time she presented. I also think her demeanor doesn't help, either. (At least for me, anyway)
