WHY CAN'T I POST A REPLY ON A FORUM.

I can post on all of them but one?   Does that mean something?

Which one? Is there a lock on the left hand side of it?

No no lock.  It is the one about Patty Reilly?   It is weird.  It is not shut down but there is no reply button. ??

Under Q Talk.   Can anyone else post on it?

The thread about Patt Reilly has a big lock to the left of the P in The name Patti. The thread is locked to any further posting.

          @BalletBabe, As @proudlyfromNJ, when you look at the list of threads in the "Q Talk" forum there's a lock icon to the left of the thread title.   Also, when you open the thread, you'll see the "REPLY" box at the top is faded.    Those things mean the thread is closed to comments.   Sometimes you won't see those "clues" if you're trying to post at the same time the thread is being closed.

hth!

@dooBdoo     Thank You very much!  I guess what threw me is I see no lock.  I wonder why it was locked.   I guess they don't want us discussing former hosts?  I didn't know---I won't again.

I have seen them locked before, so I know what your talking about.  Then it usually says moved , or innapopriate etc    I don't have that on my screen.  Weird!  Thanks everyone !

I also have a new thing on mine.  Where you can heart it?  I have an option to pick best answer.  I accidentally clicked on my question.  duh    Do you have best answer on yours as well?  I have it on all the threads.

Okay now I can see that Beth closed it and why.  I still have no lock.  It is okay < I don't need a lock    lol

Last night none of my apps were working---had nothing to do with Q.  I think it was an update I did, and suddenly they were working today.

@BalletBabe and @dooBdoo

My *guess* is that a moderator (Beth?) closed the thread to commenting hours ago but forgot until very recently to enter the "closed to commenting" post which is the last post in the thread. And no, there was no lock there when it was first closed. I guess the mods might get interrupted at times & not realize they'd forgotten to "finish off" closing to comment or poofing. I think that's why a thread sometimes looks like it vanished without a trace or explanation, only to show up as "moved" hours later.

That thread was actually closed to commenting about noon PST but although no one could post in it, there was no "closed to commenting" post until 10 minutes ago - almost 5 hrs later - according to the times provided to me when I look at threads & posts.

I knew what the deal was at noon only because I'm an old-timer and I've seen it happen before.
