This isn't a complaint--shipping speeds and costs are generally acceptable. Returns not so much, but that's a different conversation.

What I can't understand is why the tracking infomration is so lame. Most items show "in transit to a UPS facility" or something simllar to that, right up to the day they are delivered. I like to track orders and stay on top of retrieving them when they arrive. I almost never encounter delayed tracking information from other online retailers, and I think this is something that would be a meaningful customer service upgrade.

On this subject, it would be great to have the tracking number right on the page with the list of all orders, rather than require extra clicks to get to it.

Not a deal breaker, but the annoyance of keeping track of orders does accumulate a bit.

USPS is the worst, they tell you it's been picked up at local level then they tell you it's out for deiivery. LOL 2 notices, period.

I agree with @SharkE...UPS tracking is usually pretty good but USPS tracking is stinko.  I don't need them to tell me where it is the day it's delivered.  I figure that out when I open my mailbox.

@KaySD @SharkE @Kachina624

             Some websites have really good, up-to-date info to track their shipments, but others don't.    A couple of years ago I started using the free tracking alerts from the 3 major shippers and found that I get better info this way.   In some cases you can register your name and address several different ways, to be sure it's recognized.   Then, whenever the shipping site sees your name/address entered by a vendor, it triggers alerts for you.    I receive email alerts when packages are sent and delivered (and all the activity when they're in transit).   Text alerts are available, too.   Shipments requiring a signature usually give a heads up about this in the email, prior to delivery, and often will allow me to sign online if I choose.   Here are some links, for those interested:

Good idea about putting the tracking on the main order status page!

Usually, UPS tracking is good enough, but USPS for mine says tracking not available and that stays like that until it arrives at my post office and it's out for delivery.

I'm ticked at QVC right now, one item from Aug 29 for UPS delivery;  still says billing info received (says something like this at UPS site, too).  Yet, my credit was charged and it's included in my charges now, it's not pending since Aug 29. Supposed to have already received it, but now I have to wait another 5 days to see according to CS, the order "unsticks itself." So is it in goo or what? QVC got their money last week and what did I get????

I got a USPS package today from an eBay seller.  I looked at its tracking and it in no way resembled what we get on a Q package.  It was detailed with multiple locations where it was scanned.  It included a map of the US with a red line from its origin to my house.  I assume the red line "traveled" as did the package.  So, I'm assuming QVC takes some kind of cheap, no frills shipping service from the USPS and for which we pay premium rates.

What's with the missing first two numbers on our tracking through USPS? I have to guess if it's 94 or whatever to put in front of the incomplete tracking Qvc supplies. It's not convenient.

It would be nice to have the entire tracking number, thank you.

I ordered pj's from Stan Herman. The order said it was shipped on 11/14. I looked at the tracking info on the order and it said it was delivered on 9/27 to Suffolk VA in the mail.  I did a live chat with cs and was told they are re-using the tracking numbers. She said if the tracking number was not changed by 11/19 to notify cs. Have you ever heard of this practice? It did not make sense to me.

@elated

UPS reuses tracking numbers.

I checked the tracking status of an order and saw all sorts of wrong and mysterious information! I ordered an item on 11/19. Order status shows ordered 11/10 and shipped to a city other than my location. Says it was delivered to the mailbox in that other city. At the top of my status tracking it shows the order in MY mailbox in my city. Um...there is nothing in my mailbox.

I call Customer Service -- all they can tell me is that information was entered by the vendor. The item I ordered is not available. Can't explain what happened and didn't seem too interested in finding out.

Now I wonder just how that wrong info got onto my account, and I'm checking my credit card statement to see if I was billed.  I changed my account password a few days ago when I read about a breach somewhere on another thread.

I am going to call Customer Service again and see if I can talk to a more helpful and engaged representative. This is an unnecessary aggravation for a customer and someone should be able to explain!
