My son is getting married next spring (2017), and I'm looking for an approriate mother of the groom dress. When will more spring attire be available? Do you have any dress suggestions?
Thanks!

I believe it's still customary for the two mothers to discuss what they will wear so they can coordinate their outfits. My daughter's June wedding was small and informal but the groom's mother and I still coordinated our outfits. Also, you can't buy a dress or even think about it until you know the wedding colors and what the bride wants. Conngrats on your son's wedding but it's too early for you to think about your dress. Qvc goes into spring/summer mode in Feb but Qvc doesn't sell a lot, if any, mother of the bride dresses.

THe mother of the bride gets first choice of color of dress for the wedding so you need to check with the bride to see if her mother has selected a dress so you don't end up in the same color. QVC has very few dresses and nothing I would consider suitable for a mother of the groom dress. YOu should be checking on line with the major dept. stores like Macy's, Lord and Taylor, Dillard's and of course, Nordstrom.
NOrdstrom even has a special section on their web site in the Woman's area called Wedding Party. THere is a link to Mother of the Bride dresses showing a variety of styles suited to MOB or MOG.

Nordstroms and Dillard's have good selections. Also, many bridal stores - like Allure or David's Bridal - have appropriate dresses for the mothers of brides-grooms. I don't think it's too early to start shopping as you may need to special order and you might need alterations. Good luck!

Just a suggestion for "window shopping". Neighbor just had a wedding - her youngest son. She did a lot of looking on the Internet - eBay and other sites. I think she finally purchased a dress (gorgeous by the way) from Belk online. Got it at a wonderful reduced price. You might enjoy looking!

You do need to check first what the Mother of the Bride is wearing and then coordinate colors and style. However for my one son's wedding, the bride's mother did not get her dress until two days before the wedding and I did feel comfortable waiting that long so I just went with a neutral light pink dress (I knew we were not going formal) and that was just fine. You may want to check with Coldwater Creek as they have nice dresses that would be appropriate for your wedding. Have fun and enjoy this special time with your son and future daughter-in-law.

Begin to look now. Many of these dresses have no season. I do not know your budget, but if you order a dress in a specific color it could take months for you to get it.
