Should we contact 'corporate' about this website?

[ Edited ]

There are at least half a dozen threads heading up the Customer Care forum, contributed to by A LOT of users, more threads in Community Chat and Q Talk, and there are untold of comments throughout the various threads about problems signing in.

A few months back, the problem was pervasive and, as I recall, no one was able to sign in for quite some time. Lately, the problem appears to be more selective but it's not going to resolve itself and the IT folks seem unable to fully resolve the problem.

Yesterday, I had to install another browser in order to finally be able to sign in and even then, it took several tries. Later in the day, my preferred browser suddenly was able to log me in. Prior to that, I'd contacted the social team and was given the standard instructions to clear history, reboot and so on. I'd already tried all of those things to no avail and reported back that I had. The reply was more more or less 'so sorry', that the problem was fixed and if they couldn't 'replicate' the problem themselves there was nothing they could do. I later sent another email about the problem that went unanswered. I don't assume the social team to be IT specialists but surely there must be a better way.

Today, again, I had to try two different browsers and make multiple attempts on both before successfully signing in. This is just plain unacceptable. Moreover, this is not a problem specific to my system as was suggested. This is also not a problem that is going to be rectified by rebooting, clearing history and so on. The log in screen has clearly changed and there is a process that isn't working properly as a result. If the IT specialists cannot fix the problem then it needs to be elevated to a higher level, but CUSTOMERS should not have to spend half the day rebooting, clearing history, downloading browsers, and making numerous attempts to access the site. Neither should they be seeing their log on names changed and so on. Something is not working here and it is NOT a user issue.

It begins to seem we must contact the corporate office as a group to perhaps see this problem resolved. I mean no disrespect to anyone but clearly, to this point, the problem has not been taken seriously.

I hope they do not decide this forum is too much trouble and decide to close it down.  I do not do Facebook and I would sure miss everyone here.

I do too @4kitties  but it needs to be properly managed and if a significant number of users are having ongoing difficulties accessing the forums, then really, they aren't serving their purpose...

Oh yes, I agree.  But with all of the troubles they have with it I am feeling it is just not important to them.  They may just close it down to be rid of the problems.

From my personal point of view if I have to ask if I should do something, in the context of should I or shouldn't I,  it usually means no I should not.  I wait for "I need to..."

I probably would not complain about the forum issues.... they will probably just shut it down... if you want to complain about the shopping website in general.. then go right ahead.

If you read the skinny black banner on the very top of this page, I think that's what they are aiming for. I believe these forums are going to be history.  ETA. The Mods said this is not true on the thread they deleted. No cause for alarm.

I would not complain to Corporate about the forums.  I would be afraid they would just shut them down.  I would very much miss them if they disappeared.

One of QVC's IT specialists who took a job with another company said on another website QVC was having issues somewhere every day that needed fixed.  He suggested it was the competence level of those hired.

Although this is minor, I see another glitch.  QVC can't add up the number on my wish list accurately.  They have a whopping 50 more than I count.  What else isn't counted correctly?

How about items sold and those still in stock?  That might account for some of the sold-outs that aren't sold out the next day.  Think about how invasive this could be from adding up the totals of our orders correctly to a number of other things.

I'm not privy to the IT Department, but something is wrong.

It looks like they're going to move to a Facebook group to me. I think the party's over.
