It really bothers me that I have to pay two different shipping charges and have QVC send both items in one package.  What a ripoff.

I bought some Quackers--2 in a pkg.--4 different ones came in one package tonight--$12 shipping.  If they would weigh them I think it would of been cheaper.

Re: Shipping Charges

[ Edited ]

I think most people would be surprised at how much shipping really costs. I've been an ebay seller for years (and a buyer for even longer), and I rarely have any issues with what the Q charges for shipping. I'm sure the company gets discounts because it ships so much, but I will tell you from experience that clothing weighs more than you might imagine; as an example, I recently shipped a hoodie/sweatshirt across the country, and if I hadn't been able to use a flat rate box from the USPS, it would've cost me $18 (and it still cost me just over $13). And you're definitely not going to be able to get a set of Temp-tations stoneware or a baker's rack delivered for $5.50 without some kind of special shipping setup.

Overall, I think the QVC tiered shipping rates are usually more than reasonable. The return shipping process is a bit questionable at times—for example, if it isn't inconvenient, you can easily pay just $3.50 rather than $6.95 to return jewelry items via USPS First Class Mail, and you'll get your package delivered and your refund issued a LOT faster—but on the whole, unless or until the Q decides to change its business model to offer more free shipping, the current fees aren't so bad.

That also bothers me when I pay for shipping twice and the items are placed in the same package.  I realize that S&H is based on item weight or cost.  When I purchase from other online retailers and have to pay S&H it is based on the total sum of my purchase unless I have something that is oversized.  QVC has a set S&H for every single item.  I'm curious how the S&H would compare if it was done similar to other online retailers (only in situations where I have to pay shipping charges)

Their discount is a well kept secret.  I used to work for a major company and saw the discounts they got.  A FedEx $15.00 charge was THREE dollars for them.  1/5 of the cost that the normal person would pay.  I'm sure they are loving the profits they make from shipping charges that are passed on to us.

It's time folks pay attention to the shipping and return fees. Having been a customer for over 20 years, I now have awakened to note that the fees are enormous. Way back, there was a full credit on the price and shipping fees. No more. Each item has a shipping charge even if they're shipped in one bag. Return charges are at least $6.95+ for the label sent with the package. You will be charged double if you return a second item in the same initial shipment. I purchased a pair of Earth shoes. My bill on my cc was $109.43. and my credit was $93.01 so my cost to try on these shoes was $16.42. I've decreased my ordering drastically due to this, and my cc bill is way down. Unless I really want something, I think carefully what it's going to cost me. The new fee is now up 50 cents as well. The customary on TV was $3. for small items; now it's $3.50. Beware!

I don't mind the shipping as long as they ship it in a reasonable time.  Lately it's been in processing for many days before shipping it.  That's what gets me mad.
