Maybe a customer service mod. could answer this question. Why are reviews allowed on items that have not even been produced yet, and are not due to be shipped until October?
Item: F17232
Half Homemade, Fully Delicious Cookbook by David Venable
This is nothing against David Venable or his book...HOWEVER, there are 4 reviews already listed for his new book that ONLY the cover sleeve has been shown and any display copies on air have blank pages. If reviews are censored why or how were these allowed?
This truly irks me because these situations skew the actual verified reviews of products and give false ratings. 2 of the reviews given were both 2 stars each because they had not received the promised email with instructions for the promo offered. The other 2 reviews were both given 5 stars and they stated they ordered the book and were questioning if they would receive the email for the link for the offered promo!
How ARE THESE COMMENTS CONSIDERED REVIEWS? Please look into this as I believe these should not be posted as reviews as I mentioned my reason above...it skews results of reviews giving false ratings. There should be NO REVIEWS for this item until it is shipped and received into the hands of those that purchased it, which will NOT occur for about 5 months!
Thank you.

@Scorpio1971 The mods have nothing to do with the reviews. We've been told that a private company contracts to do them.

Well then hopefully they will see this & pass it along to whomever handles the reviews. TY!

It is not unusual to see things have reviews that have not been published yet, particularly books. Advance copies are sent out to various press people and/or friends that are known in the industry.
I recall Author James Patterson was interviewed about one of his books (this was years ago), and he mentioned a celebrity who received an advance copy/manuscript in order to get his review to be published on the inside cover.
I have ordered in advance Amazon books where you could read the reviews of those who received it ahead of time, before it was published, so their thoughts on the book could be included. But the book wouldn't be available for a couple of months.
Even David has mentioned getting some food items shipped to his home in advance so he can try it and comment knowledgeably, a "new item."

They're not really reviews!

@World Traveler, at least once David mentioned that the book is still being edited so there would be no advance copies to send out yet.
Additionally, the OP clearly stated that all four "reviews" were related to the email not the book.

@Scorpio1971 - Did you click the button to file a report for the inappropriate reviews and describe the problem? I've done that a couple of times in the past for the exact same reason you've mentioned, and the reviews were actually removed. I'm not sure that happens often, but it definitely was successful at least twice in my experience.

No I didn't but will go back and try. Probably will even find more comments when I do go back. And I know exactly why the are not getting their emails too. They have to change their settings to enable emails and other promotional communications in their QVC settings. Without allowing access they will never get their notice.

When I saw this headline @Scorpio1971 I thought you were talking about Jason Wu's tsv from last week since it's not to ship until June19. I just pulled up this tsv dress to see if anyone has received it early by chance. Doesn't look like it however....
Two people "reviewed" this summer dress YET neither one of them own this dress but (1) chose to write about it and (2) QVC actually posted both of them.
How and why does this even happen? Many here have brought up the fact of allowing reviews to be posted on items the posters do not even own, did not order, do not intend to order. Yet they write and post bad reviews on items they do not even own.
Hey QVC mods of reading over reviews - STOP ALLOWING, STOP POSTING reviews like these. And if Q mods who review what posters are attempting to review at least on this tsv dress, they'd know this dress has not even shipped out yet.

No surprise here. David's last cookbook was "customer top rated" - based on the 5 star reviews it received before it was even published! As with this one, as soon as David previewed the cover on ITKWD, the 5 star reviews started.
