Returns Via the US Post Office--Don't Use!

After checking today on two returns I made recently, I found that they have been sitting in the local post office for over a week and not going anywhere.  So from now on I'm using only UPS instead of the provided US Post Office return label.  While this is not necessarily QVC's fault (although they are slow giving any credit back in my opinion), I thought a "heads up" acknowledgement of my problem might help others who perhaps have noticed the same problem.  I used to trust the US Post Office but not anymore which is a sad commentary.

I haven't had any problems returning at the post office nor UPS.  Curious how you found out your package sat in the PO for over a week.

@Biftu

When I used to return via the Post Office I would get a receipt with a tracking number. I asked why Q returns sat there often for 3 p,us weeks. I was told by a clerk it's return shipping agent who decide when they'll pick up return items. BTW, they're not employed by the post office, they have a contract with the Q.

I'm in Northern California.

I've never had any problems returning via the post office, nor getting my refunds in a timely manner.

I really haven't had any problem with returns through the USPS.  It's getting them processed by QVC that is the problem.

I returned something by UPS on May 31. It went from NY to PA to VA to Atlanta. It sat in Atlanta for 5 days. Finally left there and went to South Carolina. Left SC Tuesday and is who knows where. I rarely have issues with UPS but this is next level weird.

@InStitches49 You can only speak to your area post office and not others.  It would be helpful to know what state and area you live in so we have some idea where your problem is.  I live in upstate SC and haven't had a problem with USPS in my state or western NC.   UPS returns have been ok too.

@InStitches49 I think @Jk9 is on point. It really matters who the staff is at your USPS. Mine are terrible. Returns aren't the problem though.I admit I don't check the progress daily. After a couple weeks I will see the location and status.

My problem with USPS is on deliveries. When UPS would drop off packages to be delivered by USPS, they would sit at the post office for a minimum of 3 days and sometimes up to a week. On many occasions our mail carrier would enter it as "delivered" when it wasn't. It was still at the post office. And on way too many instances our packages are placed in the wrong receptacle, sometimes open for anyone to grab, and sometimes the key for that box is placed in another residents box.

Our UPS is fantastic here in North County San Diego.

I wrote to my House Representative.  He had a box  to check for PO complaints as so.  manyI had a package go to 12 distribution centers. It was once 3 hours away and shipped way across country. A waste of labor and fuel. One distribution site had a 2% rating.

Re: Returns Via the US Post Office--Don't Use!

@InStitches49 When I do returns, I always send QVCeasyreturns@qvc.com an email letting them know that I am making a return.  I will give the item and order numbers.  I usually hear back from them in a few days with a refund.

Yes it's an extra step but I get refunded within a reasonable amount of time not worrying if my item has shipped back quickly.
