Refund applied to account, not card

That is the second time this has happened. I returned three items recently. Two of the refunds were refunded to my credit card. One (the highest amount) was placed on my QVC account with the explanation they can’t credit the card. WHY????? The other two went through just fine! I don’tWANT a credit on my account - I WANT MY REFUND TO MY CREDIT CARD! Please explain

I've seen other people say that they're crediting accounts rather than issuing a refund.  I don't know why that's happening, but I'd be upset if I got a credit instead of a refund.

Amazon did this and I was wondering where my refund was.  I called and was told it was returned in the form of a credit to my Amazon account.  I make sure now, that if I returned something and they are giving me a refund that it goes back to my original payment.  Sometimes these representatives don't understand what you're saying to them.

 

Not returning it to its original method of payment is because they want you to spend the $$$ here on the Q.  Did you have a choice to choose how to get your refund?

I've never returned an item late (past 30 days) but is that what they do if it's late?

I returned 2 items (2 weeks apart) and both were placed as credit.  Customer service told me there is a "glitch" in the system and they are working on it.  I questioned how long since my items were 2 weeks apart, they had no answer.

This is just bad customer service.  Shouldnt take over 2 weeks to fix a huge problem like this.

The same thing happened to me with a plant order I returned a week or so ago.  I got an automated message saying that the money they were trying to put back on my card was "declined."  HUH?!?  I have never heard of such a thing!  It is an active card in good standing.  They issued me a merchandise credit instead.  It wasn't for that much,so I didn't call about it, but if this is happening all the the way around to their customers, they need to fix it and fast.  That is a completely unacceptable way to do business.

 

A "glitch" sounds ridiculous.  Don't get me wrong I do enjoy shopping here and I won't stop (as of now), but there are too many of those "glitches" lately with the Q.

Everything is a glitch here.  It makes me very leery to do business with them.

@gertrudecloset, when you return anything on line with Amazon, they ask two questions and I always check the one that says, return to original payment or something to that effect. Keep an eye out for that.
