In the past year i have had a scammer order using my qvc account big ticket items. I caught it twice, qvc caught most recent. They did not ship the item, but they debited my account $300. I had to wait 10 days for them to return my money to my bank account. I have removed my payment information so this does not happen again. There is no apology for letting this happen or for keep8ng my money. I am going to report this to my bank and Visa.

I know it's too late for what happened and I'm so sorry it did.
I think what may help overall is as soon as anything is shipped from anywhere, remove your payment info from any site. I always do this.

@Niners Make sure to change your passwords also. If this all happened on one card, I would close it, and get a new card.

If you're paying with a bank card, request they issue you a new card with a new number.
I started removing my cards from sites I regularly use, too. Including the Q, Amazon and Paypal.

I don't save any credit card info on any site either. I agree to ask the bank for another card, too bad this happens quite a lot.

@Niners I am so sorry for what happened to you.
QVC has had my payment account info since I first started shopping here, I think in the 1990s, and I have never had my account info stolen.
One needs to be careful to protect electronic devices from the tools that thieves use, not click on links unless I feel confident about the identity of who provided the link, or the link itself, and never reply to electronic messages unless I feel confident about the identity of the sender. Also make sure not to disclose account info to anyone that calls.
I get calls from people pretending to be someone I do business with concerning a transaction. I always hang up and call the business to the customer service phone number I have. I think all but one of the times the calls have been fake.
Never disclose info to someone who calls us!

This is more of a password issue than safety issue. If one uses the same passwords for multiple sites, a scammer gets one and tries it elsewhere. I personally wouldn't save a debit card to any website either

It's not QVC's job to watch out for your credit card. You need to keep track of it. When you have issues you need to call Synchrony. They are the Bank that issued the card. QVC didn't issue the card they are not a Bank?
If you have not notified the Bank about this you need to. They will issue you another card. If you don't do this your card may still be used by your scammer.
Removing your credit card from websites doesn't mean it's not available for scammers to still find your number?

It always makes me nervous having a card attached to my iPhone. I know they say that they're completely safe...but I wonder.

@cheriere My cousin's 20 something son was robbed of every dime he had, plus money was borrowed from his account.
He was in Miami and was a groomsman for a friend's wedding.
While he was there he either lost or had his iPhone stolen. During the course of four hours, someone maxed out several CC and even took cash advances on his cards, They cleaned out his saving and checking accounts.
There were several hundreds transactions made, and most of them were for small amounts and they went through with no problems and were not flagged.
His credit union sent verification requests to his email and to his phone, and the thief who had possession of the phone approved the transactions.
When it was all said and done, he was out nearly $30,000.
My cousin told me this story about a month ago. She asked if I had an iPhone...I don't. I have an android. She said it was easy to steal money from the info on an IPhone.
Since I don't have one, I didn't ask how.
This thief even got into his locked phone to do this.
I would never have a banking icon on my phone. I always type in an address and don't use many icons.
With icons, thief's know which stores and banks you do business with.
Thiefs today are quite knowledgeable and they use tools to make their job easy.
You also have to be sure you use a safe Internet connection. If you use public Internet, you leave yourself wide open for theft.
