I have a qvc credit card thru Synchrony Financial.  Today 12/13/2016 when looking at my bank account online, i noticed there was a pending debit and its scheduled for payment to the qvc credit card.

Knowing I did not do this, I went to the credit card account thru Synchrony Bank (online)and to my surprise there was a scheduled payment 12/13/2016 for the "EXACT" amount of the current charges with a confirmation number.  Which I did not schedule nor gave authorization to do so.  When I contacted the bank and told them of the problem.  They basically told me thats my problem and they did not nor do they have access to do this. My response was ,"Who else would do this, a Hacker??? They are not going to make my payment?? Soemone did this and it was not me, so it had to be the bank, but they denied it.

I began a search online for this bank and any problems. Only to find lists and lists of complaints on this bank for shady practices and actions of this nature. Late fees that are invalid, lowering credit limits with no warning to people about the change. closing accounts with false reasons on those who were keeping up on payments, ruining credit scores.  This was enough of a red flag for me.

So I went into my qvc account, changed any up coming easy pays from the Q Card to my own checking account. I will honor what I need to pay, but once thats done, So am I.  Unfortunately with QVC as well. Why would they do business with such a shady bank, and me having first hand experience with this bank and lets not forget the rude customer service. I did not schedule this payment,,,,,lets just say "someone" went into MY account and scheduled payment for the "exact amount of money due for the month on the EXACT same day credit card payment was due"!!!  COME ON!!!

Be careful, thats all I can say!!!!

This outfit also handles Evine's credit card.   I had one for about 3 month and it was such a mess,  I discontinued use of the account.   I couldn't even access my account information.   Sounds like their reps have a bad case of smart-mouth.

On all my cc purchases, I have the ability to choose my payment date (on the computer) from "today" to anytime up to the actual due date.

I never use ez pay.  If I can't pay for the item in total upfront, I don't purchase.  That's just me.........

I've had a Q card since 1986 and never had a problem.  Maybe I'm lucky.  I also pay in full and check my statements very closely.

It's not just QVC.  Synchrony handles many store branded credit cards.  It was spun off from GE a while back.

Personally, I've never had a problem with them (so far, fingers crossed) but I don't do online payments and also always pay in full each month.

Re: QVC Credit Card problem

[ Edited ]

Synchrony Bank is nothing more than a branch or spin/off of GE Capital, which could never get anything of mine right in the first place. No reason to expect Synchrony to do any better.  I have had nothing but trouble from them since I went back to a Q card.  (Had one years ago and cancelled it because of the constant issues.)  Had I realized that Synchrony was a branch of GE Capital, I would never have taken a new Q Card.  BTW, they also handle my Belk account!  GRRRRRRR!  And I have two letters from their bank officers apologizing for the trouble they have caused me.

As for Easy Pay, I have no doubt that they are messing this up!!  And all the reps I have spoken with there are rude and disinterested in your issues. Don't even bother.

That's a bad situation.

I think giving any company direct access to your checking accounts is a bad idea.

Making your own electronic payments is better, that way YOU control when the money is accessed, not someone else digging into your pockets when they feel like it.

I schedule my payment about a week in advance on my QVC card.    I am never late.   Then I get a letter in the mail that I owe $___ right now to cover the Easy Pays coming due.    The amount I owe is about twice what I had scheduled for my regular payment.    So I make the payment they requested but I had been pro-active in watching my statements & I knew where I stood on purchases & payments & couldn't understand the problem.

When I got my next statement I found out why, they had hit my account for TWO easy pays in one month, which matched the amount mentioned in the letter.   The EP items were for payments #3 & #4, not duplicates.    So while I had to fork over more money than I had budgeted at least that item is fully paid for.   It was a 4 month EP.

Like everything else, watch your statements carefully.

I think I remember seeing a disclaimer somewhere that this could happen--it's possible for two ez payments to be billed in one credit card cycle.
