QVC Big Deal light bulb questions

Watching the presentation for the light bulbs with battery backup.

Super great idea.

But the vendor wouldn't commit to how long the battery will keep the light lit, once the power has failed.

This is really important information and needs to be stated to make an informed purchasing decision.

Could it be that Q really didn't test this, and is there an answer to just how many hours one gets on the battery function to these bulbs?

@Mominohio

That question was asked below the product description. Don't know if the answer is reliable but someone answered 8 hours.

I have several battery-operated lanterns and candles to be used in emergency situations so I’m passing on the light bulbs. We use LED daylight throughout the house and love them.

@Susan-QVC

Just a thought for people to consider with these.

I have an elderly mother that lives alone. Often the power goes out with no warning. While she has tons of Luminara candles and flashlights, I worry that if the power goes down unexpectedly (not like when a storm is happening, and you tend to be more prepared, but like when someone hits a pole down the road, and all of a sudden on a clear night, the power is down for hours till fixed), she might get hurt just getting to those candles and flashlights.

With these already in one lamp in each room, and left on around the clock (which is something we do on every level of our home, have at least one lamp that is never shut off, for safety), they would come right on, and no worries about feeling your way in the dark and risking falling or breaking something to get to the flashlight or the Luminara.

I think these are just a great safety feature for any home. Really excited to get these and see how they work for us.

Re: QVC Big Deal light bulb questions

The info from the manufacturer I found on these bulbs states that they will remain lighted for about 4 to 5 hours.

i have also found that you can purchase 12 bulbs for $29.99 with free shipping. This includes 6 power bases.

Good idea, but not the best deal from QVC.

Re: QVC Big Deal light bulb questions

not getting these......

only 25 watts is not enough light to put into any of my lamps or light sockets to use on a regular basis.

in an emergency i have great coleman lanterns that i purchased from qvc. each break into four pieces so that they can be distributed in case of a power loss. i also have the light app on my phone and other flashlights in every room of my home. have numerous battery operated candles all throughout my home also.
