It has nothing to do with QVC. Synchrony Bank made the decision. I'm not a "retired attorney", but I'd know enough to contact the bank to ask why.

Clearly TransUnion is the issue. If they provided Synchrony with certain credit info on you, that is what Synchrony will use.
If you only have a mtg payment and pay your CC in full every month....why in retirement would you even want another credit card??
Why not just pay for a vac in full either from Q or somewhere else using one of the credit cards you are in good standing with?
It's a vac, not a car !

@DavidLV , I've really nothing to add but hope you got some good info here and you can get it straightened. BTW, welcome to the forums. Let us know how you've made out.

Go to Annualcreditreport.com and get your free credit report. It has all three bureaus listed. This will tell you what is happening. You should check this information every year to make sure they are accurate. I hope this information helps you in your dilemma.

@DavidLV Anytime you are denied credit, you're entitled to a free copy of your cred report. Order one from TransUnion and see what it says and protest any incorrect information
I doubt Sychrony Bank will give you specific information. They don't want a confrontation, which is why the credit bureaus exist to do the dirty work.
If there's an error or erroneous information, you want to get it cleaned up fast.

Not credit denial...BUT, the (teenage) cashier at Dollar Tree accused me of passing him a counterfeit $5 bill.
Now, doncha think if I was printing my own...it would be in a higher denomination???

@Desertdi Actually, when I worked in Finance we had a counterfeit $5 and I was told it was very common now. These lower denomination bills are never checked and can easily get past a cashier.

Retail stores don't know this nor care lol
Also sometimes people do not know they have been given counterfeit money as change and then go use it until a cashier checks it. It doesn't necessarily mean one makes it.
What happened after the cashier said it was counterfeit $5? You didn't finish your story.
