Philosophy doesn’t honor auto delivery prices!

I ordered the Christmas in July auto delivery for the Gingerbread Man 64oz duo bath gel. Then the price doubled and I received an email that my bath gel is on back order. The gel is available, but at a higher price! Put my two bottles in a box and fulfill my auto delivery shipment!!!

That happened to me with a different auto-delivery item. I had ordered the Mancini's cheese-filled meatballs on auto-delivery, but after the second delivcery, they didn't send them anymore. Same thing - price went up. I don't blame Philosophy or Mama Mancini's. QVC made the deal - QVC has the obligation to fill the order if it is available.

@OnlyShopsOnline.  This frequently happens with many auto deliveries including food products.  They just can't operate with rising prices, so perhaps auto delivery should be eliminated?

Other companies also raise prices on their auto-delivery items.  I will not name the companies that are known to do that.  You already know if it happened to you.

Prices on so many items everywhere are up and supplies of any number of things I need are frustratingly limited.

I always avoid auto ship at all costs!!! Seems like it brings lots of issues way too often.

@OnlyShopsOnline, you have a very valid point. It's been happening too often with too many auto-deliveries across many categories.

Either offer auto-delivery or don't. Don't string customers along with the promise of future orders at the touted locked in price. If the price increases then QVC made the offer and should eat the difference. They made the commitment, and although fine print suggest offers can be rescinded that's poor customer service. By saying there is no auto-delivery offered a customer can decide initially if they want to place more than one order at that time.

To renege on auto-delivery leaves a sour taste in a customer's mouth.

If QVC wants to retain their current customer base, which they sorely need to keep, then they need to do better. At the very least they should offer a salve of a monetary gift to the customer's account.  They can't afford not to retain their bird in the hand.

I cannot remember a year prices did not go up.  It has become a normal market occurrence.  I mean really, in the last 15-20 years, when did we celebrate lower prices across the board?

Companies do whatever it takes to get the sale, but then raise the prices as if they had no executives watching the market and the way prices are going up.

In the past 9 or 10 years, I've had at least three standing auto-deliveries that were cancelled, all while the item was available at a higher price.

It unfortunately happens all the time.

So the pitch to lock in the price is false.

@AuntG Exactly, it's a totally false statement and I've complained to customer service about it but nothing happens. So I too avoid the auto delivery 'promise'. It has totally undermined my respect for QVC.

If they fulfill the order, even if late, I would say it's OK.  So @OnlyShopsOnline maybe be patient.  But they should fulfill their commitment to customers.  I don't know about this particular product but I have noticed many auto deliveries now are just a one or 2 year commitment, before they were indefinite.  So QVC clearly has understands the risk it is taking, and should fulfill them.
