I would like to know why QVC has charged me a month in advance for the Oyster french door oven today when it is not shipping until a month away? It CLEARLY states "that you credit card will not be charged until we ship the item". What kind of scam is this? thank you for answering my question.

Are you sure it's not pending? That's how it usually works.

You were NOT charged yet.
ALL vendors put a temporary charge on the credit card to be sure you have the available credit to buy it.
It will fall off in a day or so depending on YOUR credit company or bank.
It will for that short time affect your available credit, but you have NOT been actually charged.
This is standard practice for all vendors. Even my gas station puts a temporary charge on my credit card...then within a day or so, the full amount is processed.
It is a normal procedure. IT IS NOT A SCAM!!

@Velvey If you were a merchant extending credit, wouldn't you want to know a customer's account was in good standing before shipping an item to them? That's why all merchants do this. It's not just QVC and it's not a scam.

Everything is not a scam cuz you don't understand it.

The charge should drop off in about 3 days at least that's been my experience.

Your card isn't charged per se but a authorization of funds aka hold is what is most likely showing or "pending".
Q holds those funds until order is released & shipped.
Unfortunately, host doesn't explain those perimeters but can be found at the qvc.com site.
@Velvey welcome to the boards🙂
@homedecor1, that is NOT correct. Authorization holds usually are only about three days then the funds are released. Funds are NOT held until the order is shipped.

I ordered this too and now it has disappeared from my order status.

Thank you I recently purchased from Q and my funds were held for 3-5 days "didn't drop off" -they went to charged although the item was shipped a few days later. This maybe the difference.
I thought Q used the same principle as renting vehicle or booking hotel.
🙂🙂
