Is this safe to use without the battery cover on the bottom? I can't get the Q and A to work on the page, and was told they will not help with getting a replacement on QVC when the Q and A did work. Is this item trash now?

It's OK to use. If the batteries seem loose, use a piece of masking tape.....or band-aid paper tape (which is easy to remove).

Sometimes the pressure from the cover is needed to keep the batteries in place so it works, but if it works without the cover, slap tape on it. I'd probably use duct tape as I use it for everything. It's true, QVC never carries or will replace parts.

@QVC Fl Shopper When this happens, I cut a piece of cardboard the size of the opening and then stick on the tape. I find that this works better because the cardboard is hard and it takes the place of the cover.
