On the day that the Home Reflections sheet set was a TSV, a comforter set by the same company was shown in two colorations. I immediately liked the blue/cool set and ordered one quickly. Days went by, and my order stayed in process forever, finally going to backorder status. Today, however, I got an email stating that QVC was sorry but there weren't enough comforter sets to send out and my order was not going to be filled. Why even show an item (especially when hyped with a TSV) that doesn't have enough to send out to people? Just don't do it! Or at least be honest (I know that's a rare thing today) and let people know quantities are very limited. So frustrating! (And, yes, I've looked locally in my fairly big city and can't find anything similar.)

I am sorry that was your experience, and can understand your frustration.👍 Hosts are informed of quantities by producers in their ear of how many orders they begin with and quantities remaining throughout each segment. Sometimes unexpected shipping issues can affect fulfillment, or available vendor quantity.👍 I actually appreciate when they announce how many are available for IMMEDIATE shipment.😊
I have that happen with HSN as well but it stays in processing for awhile and then I receive the notification, and it is usually something I REALLY wanted.😁

Haven't others here experienced similar....I have.
Possibly, QVC intentionally oversells since some customers either cancel their orders, credit cards don't go through, leaving too many that didn't sell. With your sheets, that didn't happen.
However, I never did fully trust QVC's automated inventory system keeping track of the number sold during any presentation.
Then again, QVC has, in my opinion, intentionally oversold, using backorders (items not in stock). On occasion, those backorders became too backordered and customers weren't willing to wait months.

I never understood selling products that are not ready to be shipped.

@kaydee50 Vendors lie, too. That's as close as I come to understanding the delays/cancellations. Those lies and the supply chain problems everywhere.
I don't order much remotely, but I see that same kind of thing happen at my nearest supermarket. Items advertised for sale and the store is still waiting for delivery.

I also suspect that some expected products don't come in for various reasons and QVC doesn't get the expected/promised inventory from a vendor. It leaves them holding the proverbial bag and not able to fulfill orders. I don't think you can rely on much these days.

It sure seems this is a reoccurring and common problem lately.

I get very frustrated when QVC sends me an email that a product is available. When I go on the website to maybe order, it says this product is not available. Why in the world did they send me an email? QVC needs to gert their act together.
