My question is about available inventory please. I have an item on backorder. Currently, that specific item is showing availability since I am able to add two to the shopping cart and check out.
Is there any way to verify in-stock availability? The item was in stock when I ordered then it immediately went to backorder. I canceled the order. It showed availability later, I ordered, and the same thing happened again. Customer Service advised that they have no way to know the actual number of an item in stock. Thank you.

CS would never have access to that information. They are just telephone assistance - the production or inventory engineer - specialist would have inventory data.
