The way it works is you need to order an item within a rolling 12 month period. So if you wanted to sign up today for example, you would have had to purchase within the last 12 months.

I still receive the paper copy in the mail, but haven't received the email link in months. I prefer to use the links.

I've been having similar issues as other ladies in this thread.  Last got the Insider link in Nov.  I used to be able to click on that email link and it would bring up the current issue.  However, in the last week or two, this no longer works - just get a blank black screen w/tiny white dot in center.
