I believe that there was a time when QVC owned the credit card and THEN sold it to Synchrony Bank (or hired them to take it over or whatever it was but it changed who was in charge). I know QVC CS handled credit problems for years regarding the Q card and then one day I was told "Sorry, we can't talk to you about it anymore. Only the Snchrony people can". I've closed my card due to the horrible CS from that bank (who, sadly, is the bank for more and more places).
I don't know if QVC gets a % of the interest made, I don't know anything about how the deal works but once upon a time, it would have an affect on the retailer if you closed their card. Perhaps this is the reasoning behind what the OP is doing.
@SahmIam, when I first got my Q card sometime in 2009 or 2010 it was though GE Capital then was changed to Synchrony in August, 2014.

You're going to protest the forums by closing your credit card account, a more applicable way would be to quit posting if you don't like it here.
What I do not understand is why it is necessary to "tell someone to stay off the FORUMS", or "Not to post anymore."
We who want to have an intelligent dialogue would find it more enjoyable not to read posts of unkind comments....but to stay on topic.
A poster with >10,000 posts should know the rules of conduct by now.
If you actually read my post, you'd see I didn't tell her to stay off the forums. I told her that the more applicable way to protest your unhappiness with the forums is to not use them. Forums do die if people don't post on them. I've seen it happen many times. And as far as knowing the rules, complaining about the mods and their actions is against the rules.

@Marp Did it start out as GE? I didn't have one until late 2013 but it was on the here on the board that I read it was owned by QVC; again, I could have read it wrong. I'm just wondering if QVC had a much bigger role/part in the CC in the beginning and perhaps the OP is looking at it in that vein.

@SahmIam, I don't know if Q ever "owned" the Q Card but I do know GE Capital generally had "store" accounts administered by the store as far as customer service goes.

I always use my Q card but pay it off every month. I have no idea what the interest rate is these days, but I do know that every merchant credit card has outrageous interest rates. The key is to be aware of what you purchase and buy no more than you can afford each month. I think of it as just paying cash.
If you are buying appliances, cars, or have a special credit card, there is zero percent interest, depending on your credit rating, unless you do not pay by the due date. Then, the interest rate jumps up dramatically, sometimes over 30 percent.
Maybe QVC could have a PayPal option (not sure if there already is that option), but they have interest free terms.

I don't have a Q card. If I wanted to hit them in the pocketbook, I'd quit shopping here altogeter. Just giving up a Q card isn't going to do a thing if you are going to use a different card to shop.
Besides, if I was unhappy with the way things worked around here, I'd leave the boards. Why stay if you think things are that bad?

In complete agreement with your proposal of disengaging with the forums...and high interest rates.
I love the Forums for "encouraging" others with cancer, loss of pets, etc ... but yesterday turned into a battle of wits with two posters being mean-spirited. I was the one who was "removed" for standing up to them.
JAX ... again, this is the kind of statements that are unnecessary, like yours. The Forums are a privilege, but we should be allowed to make a "statement" without the sarcasm.
@seaBreeze Truffie mentioned canceling the Q card, but I didn't see Truffie, mention "disengaging with the forums." Therefore, I didn't take JAX's post as being unnecessary but rather making good points.

@truffle wrote:Besides the terrible interest rate, I am in complete agreement with Hockynut(John)'s thread and the terrible way some are treated on all the forums here at Qvc. We have been dealing with uneven moderation for quite some time now and it needs to stop. I will not sit back any longer and watch others being unfairly treated. Hit 'em where it hurts the most --- in the pocketbook!!
Yea!
"It needs to stop." What action are you taking to insure that it stops? There is nothing whatever a poster can do about the moderation on these forums. Zero.
As many others have stated, neither not using a QVC credit card nor ceasing to buy from QVC will affect QVC at all. The QVC card is not owned or administered by QVC and they get only a small percentage of $ from its use. They really don't care what kind of credit people use, or whether they even use credit, as long as people buy. One person, or ten people, or a hundred people no longer buying isn't going to affect them either. I understand that people convince themselves that they matter terribly to a company, but in reality they just don't - whether it's QVC, Amazon, Walmart or Safeway.

And speaking of unkind posts......that comment wasn't exactly in the nature of kind.

How strange that some of you don't think Qvc is connected to their Q card. Yes I know that a separate entity takes care of the charges, transactions, payments, etc - qvc is after all not a bank. But Qvc and the Q card are the same product and Qvc wants everyone to use their card hence the reason they recently started to offer 3 ezp on all purchases when using their card while that same offer is not available on other branded cards unless specifically notated for an express period of time usually expiring at midnight. Once a day you will hear a host tell the viewers about the 3 ezp option now offered with the Q card for every single purchase.
Obviously I had a zero balance when I closed my Q card - I certainly would never close an account that had a balance.
To all lthat want to continue to support the Q card that is your perogative.
As for the moderation - it stinks, it sucks, it's uneven and their name is not on the outside of the building like a couple of them think. There are reprecusions to every bad employee's actions and cancelling/closing out my Q card was one of them and I'm very proud of it. I will never own another Q card.
Yea!
