If you talk about certain hosts it's gone in a second but you can say Leah looks awful and it stays forever.

I do not think it is the same with the LR threads, he/she is obsessed with the woman and goes to every length to publicize her comings and goings

Re: How to Derail a Thread

[ Edited ]

I saw that thread. It was about a judge whose death was being questioned as to whether it was suicide or foul play. Someone mentioned there were also those who questioned the death of another judge. Some didn't want another name introduced in the thread, the disagreement began, and the thread was closed.

What I find interesting is the selective concern about thread derailment. I recall a thread, not too long ago, about picking flowers on the side of a road. Within a short time people were talking about home invaders, fridge raiders, and guns being shot.

Yet, when I mentioned the range of topics in that thread I was told "It's just a natural progression in conversation."

It is exactly the same and worse they bully the OP so as to not let the post stay open - no matter what is being said.  Why does a hateful group get to choose who thread is derailed.

I saw that thread, and the obvious way it was intentionally (IMO) derailed.  The moderators' hands are tied in those situations, but I hope they are at least looking at the trend for those and other posters' behavior when things like this happen.

That was a ridiculous, mean-spirited, closed-minded and obvious agenda-riddled tactic that only served the purpose to once again show the ugliness that can infect these threads sometimes.  Those posts were not clever in the least.

@Caaareful Shopper, they (moderators) don't seem to look at anything but individual posts. They don't seem to consult with each other or pass on information between moderators.

QVC (not the moderators, but QVC) doesn't seem to be "into" any more than each post on its own, and "trends" have been pointed out many times, to no avail. It appears their hands are tied by the direction(s) they were given by QVC.

There's a poster with a BBC nic trying to derail the thread on "how do you feel about posting signs" calling it silly in at least three posts, actually saying everyone needs more things to do-- and keeps posting to get others riled up like saying "if you're lost?"in numerous posts to get it off topic or the thread derailed. Why isn't the Q banning this poster, at least limiting her posts per thread? So far most have learned from past experience to ignore her, but she's constantly doing this & many would like her stopped please.

Yes, the "delicate" one with the noggin "injury".

She is now trying to dictate exactly how people can respond on her threads.

"Please, no negative responses that might upset my delicate senses."

Then she feignes innocence when things turn south.

After that, she says ridiculous things like, "They'll be sorry that they were mean to me, when they're dying!"

Pfffft!

It's all veery scripted and all very predictable.

It's just like when she started that now gone thread last month, titled, "Okay, All of You Grammar N***s"

You canNot tell me that she did not know exactly what she was doing, and what was going to happen.

She loves to stir the pot and she does it on purpose.

And any post that dares to tell the truth about her, or how people are tired of her purposeful manipulation, she goes running to the mods to have that "awful" post deleted.

I think anybody who has a prooven track record and history of purposeful stirring the pot over and over again, should be banned.

Let them play their games somewhere else.

It's sad when a thread expressing sadness at the death of a well respected, gracious person can't be recognized without bringing on a 'bunch of junk.'

It was very obvious and I still wonder why it was allowed @Caaareful Shopper?

I saw it too as well as a few others who popped in to agree with the person who deliberately derailed the thread.

We may lurk & read threads but we are not blind to the certain goings on on these forums as to who deliberately tries to derail topics.

I've seen many posts derailed in this manner. Many must also report at the same time.
