Help removing my name from…

[ Edited ]

The QVC Post on the Facebook site we#loveQVC to welcome new members.  I joined when you said the forums were closing to check out the page. All I wanted to do was read at this point. I had no idea my name would be made public unless I initiated a post.  I unjoined but need someone on the QVC social team to remove my name from that long list of public names. Any help from the QVC Social Team is appreciated.

@SunValley  Send an email to the Social Team as follows:

Give them all the info you posted here.

@SunValley is that the Membership list?  If you UnJoin the group it'll go away.  All Facebook Groups have a Membership list and all members can see it.

No, it's not the entire membership list I'm referring to. My name is in a post QVC put on the page welcoming new members that lists 50 or more (guessing at the number) names. Hopefully by unjoining my name will disappear from the post too. @Icegoddess

The contributors are all anonymous on the websites I use.

Can't imagine finding my full name plastered up someplace. Ewww!

@x Hedge Well, at least only the Membership can see it.  It's already on the Membership list that any Member of the Group can also see, but it won't disappear off the Welcome list if you Unjoin the Group like it will the Membership list.  Facebook "requires" you to use your official name that you can prove if asked although a lot of people use alternate names.  The more it looks like a normal name, the less likely someone is going to be to question it.

when you unjoin/unfollow a group, generally your name will no longer be highlighted in that post, but will remain in the post and will not be clickable. not sure if the mods can go back in and delete it, but i guess we will find out.

it is a fairly common practice for groups to welcome their new members.....it is generally to make them feel welcome. nothing nefarious about it. just keep it in mind if you feel like joining any other facebook group.....it could happen AND your name will appear in the member list also.

Just one more reason I'll steer clear of facebook.
