I've noticed some items in my wish list had increased to make up for the so called "free shipping" weekend. What a deceptive thing these retailers do. It's all a mind game anymore.

I've noticed that some of my favorite retailers have been getting tricky with their sales and discounts lately. Most stared before Covid, but they're getting more complicated and less beneficial now.

Free shipping minimums increase when they're offering sale prices. "Up to 'X'" amount discount, but its always below the 'X' amount. No longer allowing coupons to be used when they're offering sale prices. Etc.

It's gotten really difficult to find a great buy. Reading all the fine print is essential now. But it does help me to stop and think if I really need to buy as much as I think I do...

You are so right! I don't really bother with the free ship days anymore. The last few times QVC's had it the prices we raised in my wish list items. I did look for a few things for my kitchen. Not one thing I found that I even wanted. They seem to have the same things over & over.I'm just not even watching now. I can find many similar items locally & cheaper!

@DAD, out of curiosity once the free shipping period was over did the prices of you wishlist items go back down?

I didn't check! The price increases were some I had saved too. They were sold out so I deleted them. In fact with QVC's returns being so slow I never get my exchange. I have stopped buying clothes. They had a free shipping day about a month ago &I got some silicone spatulas for my new Curtis Stone cookware from HSN. I love it! When I get a chance I'll check again.
