Feel a bit scammed by QVC Who chooses the designers?

Without calling out the item I bought a $200 jacket this weekend on the site.

Fastforward I see the exact same one 2 days later for 50% of the price with a different label inside.  I bought the cheaper one and it is exactly the same as the one here that is still being sold for so much.

QVC is either scamming us or they are being scammed.  Which is it?

I've noticed this type of thing recently on a few things - items sold out.  But same items new item nunber for increased price.  I actually complained to the social team on one item and they reduced the price for me.

Prices are set ahead of time maybe days or weeks.  No different than going to a B&M store and buying a $20.00 item on Monday, go back to the store on Tuesday and now its $10.00 thats been going on for years and years.

We will need the item numbers in order to evaluate.  Perhaps photos of inside and outside tailoring?

@HeatherAngel

You've received the item you ordered this weekend so you could make your comparison to determine that they are exact?

@Imaoldhippie   Not the same thing.  More like if the exact same item was on another rack with a totally different price.

This is not a scam @HeatherAngel . Not sure if you are aware of it but many brands, in all aspects, are manufactured by the same company.

Great example are TV's. Hisense makes TVs for multiple brands, including Toshiba and Sharp. Same exact television under a different brand with different prices. Retailers like Best Buy contracts with manufacturers like LG and Samsung to produce their house brands.

Far from a scam and quite common, even in apparel.

People come here using the word "scam" too loosely and incorrectly.  Store often, usually in fact, have varying prices.  It's up to the buyer to compare prices and pick the best deal.

If you neglected to compare, you're just a careless shopper and nobody got scammed.  It's an open, free market

Manufacturers copy the items they're making, put a different label on them and sell them to other companies for much cheaper so it's always best to shop around before buying anything.

Case in point - a few months ago, someone filed a lawsuit against Costco for selling items quite similar to theirs. If the case isn't dismissed, Costco should win because the issue is with the manufacturer, not the store.
