The state of Indiana just passed a law allowing tolls to be charged on interstand roadways.....I don't know how they will implement this...cameras, I don't know.....

we will be taxed to death.

@Mom2Dogs  We have a few toll roads here in California. Not many, but there are two kinds I know of. A special road that requires a toll fee, and an express lane ( I find these on way to San Francisco)

the toll road is clearly marked, some have toll gates where you stop and pay or show pass.  These are not heavily travels roads, but can be short cuts.  The Fasttack lanes, require a pass. It is displayed in drivers window in a certain spot.  There are cameras all along these lanes. You do get caught. We received a ticket one week after using the lane .  We didn't realize it at all!!  Fine was 15-17 bux. Can't remember.  But we won't do it,again.  We never drive there ever enough to purchase pass. But we are aware, and avoid it now. They are famous for tickets, people are caught all the time. In fact my girlfriend had to fight the transportation agency for months, because her pass was stolen, and it was expired and still used.  So she got tickets. She had moved to Reno, and hadn't been there. She had to prove a few things and they dismissed her ticket, and actually found the guy!  Lisence!

@shoekitty

Big hotel tax over here, too.    I'm not sure if it's just Phoenix, or Maricopa County, or the State.     I worked in a resort here,  and it was a shocker to many guests.      di

There's always an excuse to raise taxes and then the money is just wasted. Yes, a lot was added at Covid, but then never went away.
