I ordered the Basso coat TSV in XXS Petite in dark indigo for my mother for Christmas very early in the TSV day.  The order went through just fine.  No indication the size/color was on waitlist.  The order status was 'in process.'  About 4 hours later, I got an email from QVC thanking me for my "waitlist" order.  I logged on to view my order and it was indeed on waitlist.  I was hopeful that some might not purchase what was in their carts and the coat in my size/color would be available.  That's exactly what happened.  I was thrilled when I checked and saw my order had switched to 'in process.'  I've been waiting for it to ship.  This morning, I logged in to check on it and it is now in 'backorder' status.  Quit toying with me QVC.  I'd be fine if the order didn't go through in the first place but to keep switching my order status like what happened here isn't ideal.  Especially because the order sailed through without issue when I originally placed it.  I figure you aren't making more of these and I don't want to end up with someone's used returned coat after the January 31 deadline.  So disappointed.  If you know XXS and XS petite are big sellers, you should order more in those sizes.

Re: Disappointed in You, QVC

@QueenofTheQ - I'm not sure what might have happened with the "Waitlist" status you received if you ordered right away, but the "Backorder" status typically isn't much of a concern. It simply means QVC or the vendor has the item in a warehouse but hasn't fully processed it for shipping yet, or QVC or the vendor has more sizes/colors/variants en route (or even at their location) but hasn't formally tagged them in their system to tie them to your order. Whatever the case may be, hopefully it is helpful to know that there's a big difference between "Waitlist," which has no guarantee of order fulfillment, and "Backorder," which has a high probability of order fulfillment. Over all my years shopping at QVC, I've received every single item that went into a "Backorder" status.

Good luck with your order! I hope it is on its way to you soon...

Thanks, Loriqvc.  That is helpful and I hope you're right and my mother gets her jacket.

Re: Disappointed in You, QVC

@QueenofTheQ. My guess is the coat in the size and color you ordered has not yet arrived in the warehouse.  International shipping schedules can be erratic and there can be delays.

I've had this happen a couple times and the items shipped in just a few days, so hang in there.

@loriqvc - Consider yourself lucky, if you've received every backorder over the years.  (The same may not hold true in the future.)

I posted a thread in "Customer Care" about what just happened with my Philosophy TSV order (November 1st).

NOT a waitlist order.  Said in process for a few days, then went to backorder.  And now it's been cancelled.  No email; no explanation.

Not good enough, QVC.

@QueenofTheQ - Yep, has just happened to me (see above post).  Seems to be happening more and more.

I hope you get your coat @QueenofTheQ.

This has happened to me too, too often.

I now only order from QVC things that I have no urgency about getting.  Their inventory management is terrible.
