Cottage Farms Knockout Rose, never again

So the last time I bought plants online I vowed never again....well I saw the presentation of the z orange glow roses from Cottage Farms and got sucked in again. Grrrrr I took a screenshot of what I was supposed to get and what I planted today.  Can I say it again? NEVER AGAIN

Re: Cottage Farms Knockout Rose, never again

Last year I told my husband I wasn't buying any more plants from QVC.  What you described is exactly what we experienced.  The plants just don't survive and are sent too early for planting.  I will only buy my plants locally.  For the same money I can get a bigger plant with flowers than what QVC sends.

Ironically my husband watched the garden show last weekend and wanted something.  UGH I said NO.

Presumably, you asked for a refund?

@MikaW  Roses are dorment right now and especially the barefoot variety look like dead sticks.  Plant it according to directions and in just a few weeks you won't recognize it.  A few more weeks, you'll have buds and blooms.  Have faith.

Re: Cottage Farms Knockout Rose, never again

There are great reliable websites selling all kinds of plants online.  I used them when they were sending catalogs before the internet and still do. Never had a plant die.

I do have a green thumb though, but my thumbs didn't help with Cottage Farms or Roberta's.

Yes, it should live but my point was the difference in the bare root plant that Alberti is holding and the bare root plant I received. Mine had 1 stalk on both of the roses I received. He is holding a plant with 5 or 6. About four times the size of what I received

It will come around.  Knock-out roses are indestructible.  That's why you frequently see them in challenging locations, like service stations and supermarket parking lots.

Sorry, I will never understand why people buy food--aren't there any supermarkets where people live--and plants, which are so specific to a particular area, from TV.

@MikaW,

I think that is very deceptive. So disappointing. I wouldn't order again from them either.
