Charge for item not available

I was charged for item that was in stock then upgraded shipping and after being charged 3 times it showed item on back order and this is the second time this happened for the same item so now I have paid 3 times today it’s not available and I have to wait for charges to fall off so last time it was 10 days what is going on ? That’s theft

Re: Charge for item not available

I’m going to file a complaint with the bbb there is no excuse for this. The item suddenly goes on back order after they charge me ? I don’t have much money and they are going to just let me wait for the $100 that they have held in my bank ? It took 10 days last time they did this and this is not acceptable it’s fraud

Re: Charge for item not available

The only advice I can offer is that if it takes 10 days for a pre-authorization fee to fall off you might what to consider dealing with a different financial institution. One that only holds a fee for 1 to 3 days.

And QVC may not be the place to shop.

There does not appear to be fraud or theft.

Re: Charge for item not available

@Shoeguru    All online merchants and many other do pre- authorizations to assure you CC is valid.  It is not a charge but it does temporarily hold funds.  The time it's held depends on the policy of your CC company, not the merchant.  The BBB has nothing to do with it, although as an advocate for business, they'd probably endorse it.

If you don't like this arrangement, you might want to avoid shopping online, although places like my gas station do it too.

Re: Charge for item not available

@Kachina624 @you bring up a good point mentioning the gas station. Last time I got gas I topped off prior to a long drive. Fill up was around $35. I had a hold of $100 on my credit card. It didn't phase me because it was on a CC and I knew it would drop off in two days. But I realized for anyone using a debit card that does tie up your funds and can be a surprised bit in the pants.

@Etoile308    You're right, and even Wal-Mart does it when I place an online grocery order for pick up.

@Shoeguru  The BBB couldn't care less about a QVC problem. Take the advice posted.

Or email to:

QVCSocialTeam@qvc.com and give all the pertinent info. This is the team that can handle this.

Did you check if the pre-auths have fallen off?

"Theft"?  LOL. That is ridiculous.

@Etoile308

DH stopped for a cheap breakfast sandwich....there was a Google hold of $1 on the credit card!  LOL

Even fast food places do it!
