Can no longer choose to self-pay for return on items?

In the past, when you did receive packing slips you could include the return portion and depending on the item, if it is smaller, you can usually pay less than the standard $6.95. Just attach your own label for the return.  For example, on makeup, it does not cost $6.95 to return mascara for instance.  Now when you don't receive packing slip and do return process on line, I can't find anywhere you can choose to pay yourself?  Am I missing it?  and Q, if you are reading this, please put that option back.  Thanks everyone.  Hope this makes sense..

Re: Can no longer choose to self-pay for return on items?

I don't see that option any longer either.

This is from QVC's Returns and Exchanges page:

Where do I return an item?

Our Q Return Labels provide the return shipping address right on the label. If you don’t have a return label, go to Order Status and click on the View Order link for the item you'd like to return or exchange. Then, click on the Print Return Label link located under the order details and follow the simple step-by-step instructions.

For more information on Q Return Label fees and returns reimbursements, see How can I return or exchange an item?

If you want to ship the item back using your own carrier option, here are the return addresses to use:

@Sunniegirl.  There is nothing stopping you from making your own label out of a plain piece of paper and using the above addresses.  Don't forget you must insure it if you send it this way.  You can also make your own return slip.  Be sure to include your correct order #.

No matter how small, I bet it costs you more than $6.95.

agree, when I sell something on eBay, a few ounces is around $6 and that is with the rate E gives sellers

thanks..  That's what I ended up doing and you are right, it did cost less....  To me, if the Q can send out items at $3.50 or $5.50, I think the return shipping should cost the same......

I use Pirateship to mail things out on my own and it is much cheaper than going to the post office.  It gives you options of using USPS or UPS at a cheaper rate and includes $100 insurance.  @Kachina624 and yes for jewlery or small cosmetics it is cheaper than QVC's $6.95.  For heavier items, you are better off using their label.

The return I did cost me much more than if I had been able to use a Q easy return. 😡

Re: Can no longer choose to self-pay for return on items?

I did make my own return slip and rather than pay the pre-pay of $6.95 - I paid $5.20...  On light items, I'd rather take a chance and see if it costs less, if not, then I will use their return label...
