Is the shipping fee supposed to be $5 for clothing when sold As Is? I thought it would be $3. Customer service, is this an accurate charge?

As is shipping should be the same as the non as is item. There have been a couple mistakes lately. The mods will get it fixed up.

I don't see any reason to expect the shipping charge to be different for regular items, as opposed to "As Is". It's generally based on what the item is and the weight. (And most of the time, when I've ordered from "As Is", I've gotten a brand new item. I've ordered a ton of stuff from "As Is"; clothes, jewelry and handbags. Never had a problem.)
So, if a pair of jeans costs $5 to ship from regular stock, they're going to cost $5 to ship from "As Is". I've never expected anything different, except when the Q occasionally offers free S&H.

Well, it's $5 to ship one article of clothing (as is item). Customer service checked and got back to me. Hmmmm. No explaination why it was $5 instead of $3.

I have wondered the same thing. Have ordered quite a few items from the As Is category and though they are always acceptable I didn't understand the amount charged for postage on certain purchases.

I asked the question before regarding the difference in shipping rates and was told by CS and one of the moderators that it can in fact vary from 3.00 to 5.00 or more.

@Snoopp - Within the "As Is" description (in my experience) they always give the original item number. Go check that out to see what the S&H was on that. It should be the same. If the original (new) item was lower S&H, then I'd be asking why. If it's the same, that's what I would expect.

For some reason, I got it in my head that all clothing shipped for the $3 fee. I didn't realize they charge more if it weighs more than a pound.
