wonder why hosts chatter away when guest is talking

this is becoming a problem. i can't make out one thing that is said when this happens. i'd usually rather hear Isaac or Dennis etc.  this leads to "turn the channel" - itis.

I agree. I like to hear what Lori is saying about the design or construction without having Amy interrupt to give an "urgent update" on how many garments have been sold. Others do it too and it's really annoying. QVC must think it will get me to buy. All it does it get me to change the channel.

[ Edited ]

I was watching Dennis Basso early this morning (around 1:30 AM) and that darn new host (long dark hair, wears lots of makeup) kept talking over Dennis.  I wanted to reach through the TV and shake her and tell her to shut the hell up.

It's extremely annoying.  And she needs to calm the heck down.  She's like a wound up toy.  So unprofessional Smiley Sad

@Qshopper1991A lot of new hosts do this.  Maybe nerves?

Re: wonder why hosts chatter away when guest is talking

One of the MAIN reasons I gave up watching most shows.

There must be a clause in their contracts that states they have to fill every second of air time with inane comments.  Honestly, I don't know how they catch a breath.

It wasn't always this way.

It is confusing and distracting...and annoying.

It's been that way for a long time.  The  higher ups must encourage it, otherwise it would stop

Most hosts are completely unwatachable for that very reason.   A lot of vendors are too

Sometimes the chatter is from along the sidelines (off the set), which is slightly distracting.  I'm only guessing that if I were the host, I'd turn around and politely ask them to please be quiet.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Today Martha S. asked Jane T.if she could talk. It was truly a moment.
