I am not sure who you usually rent to but I am far from a 20 something and I was expecting the Hilton by the Shore and barely got the Days Inn
I think you had over inflated expectations.....sounds like you got what you paid for and you DID stay..............................................raven

PS You just brought back memories by mentioning Brigantine. We used to stay there summers all through my childhood. I have fond memories. Back then there were lots of motels, cabins etc. I hear now its mostly condos. Anyway Brigantine was wonderful when we went.
Its still lovely we discovered it about 5 years ago, it is one of the quieter shore communities we have been to. Its very family oriented and the beach is clean and generally uncrowded.

You are looking for the damage deposit back. Right? If you did no damage, it should be sent back to you within the time set forth in the agreement. Too bad it didn't meet your standards. I have had a disappointment like this, too.

Not sure where you live b/c 2 years ago my electricity was out for a week. After 5 days using a generator I decided to stay in a hotel in town when their electricity was restored. I paid $169/night after all the taxes and there is no beach, absolutely nothing around - and this was the normal price so your cost of $200 per night is CHEAP.
As for those $4000/week places mentioned above, I've stayed in one a few years back with family. But these homes are usually oceanfront, with a lot of bedrooms, ours had its own private pool, a washer/dryer, kitchen and appliances, TV and video games, etc. Also these homes usually are set up to accommodate 10-20 people. When you do the math, sometimes the more expensive homes are the better deal for what you get for the money.

You stayed there the full 3 days of the contract. I thought you would get a depost if the place is clean, anyways. Or is it nonfundable? Seems kind of high $300. I would have left that day if it wasn't up to par.

If all you want is your damage deposit back...why didn't you save the nasty letter for AFTER you had your money back?
BTW - Why did you stay? Weren't there any other options?
It doesn't sound like a fun vacation.

I would have waited until after I received my security deposit before I posted a negative review.
I would not have stayed. That being said, $200/night for an oceanfront condo in-season does not sound believable. Red flags!

I agree I would have waited to get the deposit back, then write the review. I must have missed that.

I would of BEEN FURIOUS!!! I would of perused the hotels and found something for those three days..
We do the Condo thing often so I really look at the online reviews and pics. One thing I noticed is they 'stretch' the distance often to the Beach/Boardwalks.
PLEASE post and let us know what the response is.

One time we rented a hotel for a week in Wildwood NJ...I paid with my Amex Card . The place was horrible..and we stayed - there were not a lot other vacancies in the area without moving hotels three times in the week. I checked.
I registered a complaint with Amex..who contacted the hotel and they refunded 3/4 of my money within 24-hours. I was fine with it. A couple of months later I was refunded by Amex the remaining 1/4 of the money. After investigating they decided that I should receive a full refund based on the list of complaints I had.
We did stay and we did receive a refund. Sometimes you don't always have options just to up and leave..sometimes driving the distance you need to stay.
I would think they would offer you a portion of your money returned at least. Yes, you stayed but the condo was not as described.
