Re: what would you do in this situation

I never rent a condo without pictures first. You are asking for trouble if you don't get this. I never rent a motel room without visiting the room first.

How stupid do you think I am this is probably our 10th rental, her description was not 100% true and her photos were photos, but of course did not show any of the things I complained about

Re: what would you do in this situation

Update on the return of the deposit not the rental fee

I received 1/2 my deposit back claiming that there were thing left in the fridge, papers on the floor and things had been moved and oh yeah dishes in the sink:

I should of run like I wanted to and sued her for the money, it is really sad that "realtors" like this spoil it for the honest people

I usually get insurance that covers me in case the rental is misrepresented.

Sorry that happened. Cant trust anyone these days.

That's great that you got half your money back -- even after staying there the whole time. I'd just try to remember the good times you had outside of the rental and focus on that now. Maybe you can get yourself a little something nice with the refund.

On the positive side, next time your husband should, if he has any sense, go along with your decision.

Re: what would you do in this situation

The realtor has not answered any of my emails, and will not forward the "photos" she has, I think she is acting like a spoiled child and I seriously doubt she is a realtor, may just an owner trying to make a quick buck.

I still can not believe she is keeping 1/2 my deposit, the condo needs to be cleaned between each new tenant anyway doesn't it

Re: what would you do in this situation

Of course they should clean between renters but that isn't always what is done. I live at the Jersey shore and Saturday mornings see renters leaving shortly before noon. Within a few hours there are new renters unpacking. I doubt anyone went in and cleaned in between.

Did you leave stuff in the fridge, papers on the floor and dishes in the sink?
