Re: what to i send to a very sick male friend

I'm glad you're not sending flowers.  They are waaay too overpriced, if you ask me.  And if money is an issue--you just saved yourself some!

Perhaps you could send a gift card for a grocery store or a nearby restaurant that they could get delivery?  You'll helping out him and his daughter by feeding a couple of mouths or getting some needed supplies.  Even the luxury of one meal delivered/pickup will help her and him.

You may not be in optimum physical or financial shape, but you have a heart made of gold.

@lavendar   Hope your friend is doing better.  I haven't read all replies yet, so I hope all is positive.

Sending joy, prayers, love and gentle hugs to all who need them this holiday season.

Having had cancer myself...continue to be his friend.  Be there when he says he needs something and be there when he doesn't say a word.

Treat him as you did before his diagnosis.  He is still the same person, he just has cancer now.

Re: what to i send to a very sick male friend

When I was nine yrs.old I had surgery due to polio.  A family friend gave me a box of small presents.  There was a hitch to the presents, however.  I could only open one a day.How I looked forward to picking out a gift a day!

I never forgot that and now, as an adult, I do that friends that are ill.  I look for things inexpensive...sometimes gag gifts...but there is always one that is a bit more special.

My husband just passed away from cancer.  What he enjoyed the most was lottery scratch tickets in a card with a short note-always cheered him up-something he could DOHeart
