I used to love to bake and made my son many yummy batches of cookies.  Then he informed me he really preferred Oreos.  So much for my "mother earth" image.

@Kachina624   Yup.......I used to bake my husband "healthy" snacks.......but he preferred a bag of greasy chips..........di

No cookies in my cookie jar. I have a large bag of atomic fireballs in it.

Right now my "cookie jar" has Oreos and Lorna Doone cookies in it.

The jar is actually a lidded ceramic bowl that my stepson made for me on his wheel and kiln about 30 years ago.  It's very pretty and makes a great cookie jar.

we have cookie jars, but for display only when appropriate.

i store our cookies in large lock n lock containers, never mixing different types of cookies. i also add a slice of white bread to keep the cookies soft. this past week i made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. they dont last long. LOL

Nothing but store bought now but much much earlier I would make banana oatmeal cookies when the bananas got to soft for me to eat.

I have a picture of my son eating a cookie when about 2. He got a chair near the kitchen counter and climbed up. He is now 57.

We have an old (circa 1971) Snoopy ceramic cookie jar and he sits on top of our kitchen cabinets. He has a smudge on the side of his face because he was in the flood caused by Hurricane Agnes back in 1972. Other than that, he's in really good shape. We are a cat family, but Snoopy rocks.

No cookies in him. I do bake cookies often because the grands visit and they like their cookies. But I keep the cookies in L & L containers.

(But Snoopy still rocks.)

Re: what is in the cookie jar?

I have a Mickey Mouse glass jar with wire bail that I bought when I went to Disneyland while in college. That was almost 40 years ago. I always keep biscotti in there. I bake various kinds and if it gets hard, dunkers.
