what does this mean?

Was going to "reply" on a current topic. Topic is still here, got not nice, but said "comments have been closed"

I thought the whole thread would be removed if there was a problem, not just unable to comment.

JMO: I still do not get how some can get so ugly about people they, in reality, DO NOT KNOW. An opinion-sure, go for it, pure poison, why?--And I mean anyone-not just certain people. NO, I am not a Pollyanna-I just don't get it(but I do read it-part of the problem maybe)
